And Now... a Public Service Announcement

This is Yoyo and Skill Toy Weekend! Brownielocks's website says so, and while a quick browse about the World Wide Internet Computer Web (kudos to whoever catches the quote) does not readily turn up verification of the celebration, there do seem to be an awful lot of yoyo competitions occurring this weekend; so, unless yoyoers are over-achievers, who have competitions most weekends, I am going to take it as circumstancial collaboration. Therefore, if you are in possession of one of these:

or one of these:

these:

these:
or these:

Get them out, because now is your chance to impress your friends-and-relations... or at least, provide them with some solid entertainment...What is that you say? You have no skill with skill toys? Fear not, today is also Scrabble Day. And tomorrow is International Moment of Laughter Day - "My dear chap, I never would have dreamt of depriving you of your moment of laughter. Alas, a moment was all I could spare."

Laughter day...you've made me want to pull out our copy of Singin' in the Rain and watch it. "Cos! Call me a cab!" "Okay...you're a cab."

I shall have to look for a yoyo, even though I'm very bad at them.

I too think you'd like Inception, you have the brilliant mind for it.

Like you, I cannot stand the other Mission Impossible movies, but Brandt and Benji really made the new one worth watching over and over. They are just so brilliant, those two need to be in more movies together.

International moment of laughter day...*Snicker-snort*...I wonder if I could get a job coming up with bizarre 'day themes.' Imagine the fun I could have! :D

Aye, being a hermit sounds wonderful sometimes, especially when one has a good book and realizes work is in an hour. It is during those times I want to curl under my blankets and never come out except for every ten years when I go meet up with Ten. (The idea of being a hermit just got better.)

Agreed about The Avengers. It couldn't have been an easy movie to make with so many characters, and who are so completely different. It would have been so easy for them to change some of them, to give curtain ones the spot light and ignore the others.
But it was done SO well. And even the parts which would have seemed dumb in other movies were pulled off so well. (I'm thinking of the part where Rodgers tells the police what to do and they ask why. Then the Aliens attack and he beats them up and they obey. I've seen scenes like that before and they always look so dumb. But for some reason all scenes like that turned out so well.)
And the characters, I'm still in awe of how he did that. They are all themselves and play so well off each other. Rodgers and Thor's slight cluelessness to how the modern world is, and Tony's apparent annoyance over their ignorance. Rodgers always saying Ma'am and getting strangle looks from Black Widow - though I think she kind of liked being treated like a lady.
Black Widow in general. The only girl Avenger who somehow never tried to compet with the men yet never stood on the side lines and screamed while they were getting beaten up.
Also, as you said, the dilouge was brilliant as well. I really hope Joss Welden directs the second movie.

I'm not super good at yoyos but they are fun to mess with now and then.

I love the Scarlet Pimpernel quote at the end!! Long live Sir Percy!
